Weather & Seasons in Bali

Located about 8 degrees south of the equator, Bali experiences a tropical, humid and warm climate on almost all 365 days of a year. The two distinct seasons that one can witness are the dry season and the rainy season.

The central mountains in Bali include several peaks with Mt Agung at an elevation of 3,031 m, the highest point on Bali, dominating the surrounding region and influencing the climate. Here, the temperature is considerably cooler with more rainfall than the coastal regions!

When is the best time to visit Bali?

The best time to travel to Bali is May, June and September!

The peak months are July and August, during Easter Holidays, and Christmas / New Year (December till 1st week of January). Bali counts the highest footfalls during these months.

However, the best time to visit Bali is during April, May, June and September, right before and after the busiest months. Bali during these months is dry, less-humid and the accommodation charges for luxury hotels and villas are priced nearly at 30-50% cheaper than during the peak seasons.

The restaurants are not overpriced, pristine Bali beaches with fewer tourists and fair priced flight fares. April to October being the driest months is perfect for beach lovers who love swimming and sun tanning themselves.

Also, the dry months offer the best time to surf in Bali. This is because the waves at the western beaches are at their own best. Apart from surfing, these months are best suited for scuba diving, snorkeling and other water sport activities.

Bali’s major tourist attraction places such as the Bali zoo, Marine & Safari Park, White Water Rafting, Bali Bird Park, Waterbom, Monkey Forest, Ubud Art & Culture, Agung Rai Museum of Art, the Bali Botanic Garden, The Nusa Islands, Sekumpul Waterfall etc. aren’t overcrowded so you can make the most of it.

Despite the dry sunny morning, the Bali evenings are exclusively pleasant and awe-striking. The fierce orangey sunsets are truly breathtaking. One should still be prepared for occasional showers because like we all know, the weather is controlled by none!

Bali’s central mountain regions are marked with cooler temperatures and occasional showers. The temperature at night drops significantly in the high altitude areas. Also, the area around Ubud experiences mild temperatures.

Being located very close to the equator, Bali is warm, dry and the tropical climate attracts visitors from all over the world, all time of the year. The average year-round temperature in Bali ranges between 26 to 27 degree Celsius and a humidity level of around 85-90%.

No matter what time of the year you choose, Bali is always exuberant. The place turns from busy to busiest. It is absolutely up to you and your preference. If you aren’t scared of rain, then Bali is best anytime. All you need to do is pack your rucksack and board the flight! Reach Bali & enjoy an unforgettable trip.
